Oh, the GLORY DAYS...

I have to pay homage to my husband...he truly is a good sport. My boss is active and athletic and spends his weekends running 5ks and participating in triathlons. As soon as he heard that Todd was a collegiate sprinter, he has been dying to race him for the past 2 years....Well, that race finally took place a week ago. First the debate...do you run with him for most of the race and then sprint ahead the last half mile, do you let the big man win or do you just go out and run your best??? The competitive edge got the best of Todd as he heard the starting pistol and off he went, never to see my boss again until after the race was over. For an old man and a sprinter, Todd should be very proud of himself...finished 21st out of 4000 racers and was 1st for his age division....oh Coach Hislop himself would be proud..."Coach says...."

GOOD LUCK BRADY!!!

Todd and I just want to wish our favorite brother-in-law going into medicine (the one treating patients, not peddling the drugs...) our best wishes as he prepares to take the MCAT this Saturday. Sadly, I am not the genius that my husband is and unfortunately had to experience the torture of the test TWICE! However, I know that Brady is just as smart if not smarter than my husband and will only be taking it ONCE....we'll be sure to compare scores 3 weeks from now for bragging rights...my 27 will be tough to beat (HA HA HA)!

My, what a large --- you have...
Castor oil for all...
Ahhh--anus, appendix, abductors...
Turn your head and cough...

Good Luck Brady...we know you will do fantastically! The 3 months of miserable studying will more than pay off and before you know it we will be sharing war stories!

And to Greg...we love our drug peddlers...how else would we get pens AND food???

Things That Make You Happy When You are SO TIRED...

I have sadly only slept about 6 hours in the last 3 days...Spent Tuesday night operating on a man until 1:00AM and was back at the hospital by 4:30AM to take him back to the operating room. Was then called last evening at 2:00AM that one of our patients who is 80 years old had become unresponsive. After a few interventions, she was actively trying to bite and kick me by 3:30AM, back to her baseline mental status....

4 years in undergrad....$15,000
4 years in medical school...$90,000
3 years in a general surgery residency with 3 years to go...working 100 hours a week and earning $5.00 for every blissful hour

Being assaulted by your 80 year old patient in the middle of the night and then being happy about it....PRICELESS!
